If it comes to the worst, IMO, Sins should open a small studio and become an independant dev. He already has talent and potential. I can even help him to get traffic.

We need to make a porn based patreon site. servers off continent to remove restrictions and limitations. it was bound to come to this, though i think restrictions on what basically equates to stories with computer generated imagery is overstepping. i mean whats next they start restricting complete texts? if it ain't real people cencors should have no say

Honestly steam(or gog, or humble for that matter) could just kill patreon off in one fell swoop today if they wanted to just by actually opening up a true adult section without censorship and allowing early access for their games. And patreon would be absolutely screwed in minutes.
A lot of these devs could just charge a one time fee of 15 or 20 dollars for early access and achieve similar or better results due to a bigger market.
It won't ever happen, but yeah that'd be the simple solution to all this.

the problem with that is these companies would be bound by the same restrictions and probably even more public/community backlash, thus preventing the kind of content that has become so desired and popular from the patreon creators. its unlikely these kinds of creators would move to a platform with even more restrictions with even less recurring income. 1 time early access fee versus recurring release fees doesn't feel like much of a draw.

I remember a posting saying once "We are living in a golden age of incest games right now", that time appears to be ending and i can honestly say that is a pity even if the market was flooded with them. Also isn't this patreon being a bit over the top, i can see why underage and rape should get censored but 18+ consensual incest i honestly think this shouldn't be a problem for them especially if they use the *assumed step* caveat that porn generally does.
This disappoints me more than anything else, patreon must have been earning a fair amount though games like this and as a guy with a dip my toe in the water incest VN in the works this pretty much sinks my hopes of making my DAZ hobby pay for itself for a little while.
Also yes an 18+ subsidiary of patreon would be a good option, in fact how porn games and indie music shared the same platform to begin with is pretty surprising they should have had an 18+ section from the start or perhaps just an age advisory on each devs page ect.
I can only cross my fingers and hope that the rule is applied and not strictly implemented, otherwise where on earth will these devs go?

From what I remember from some article the House Party devs have made a ton more from the limited time they've been on Steam than their entire time on Patreon.
I get that it is a risk for the devs, but yeah I would say if the plan is to gain as much money as possible the goal should probably be trying to get on steam or similar services.
Or hell like the other guy said Patreon could just make a dedicated 18+ sub-site and bypass all this.

But a lot of the games on this site would not count as "consensual". And thats why I hate this the most, as that would remove any games with rape, blackmail, forced sex, anything while a girl is asleep, if the girl is drunk/drugged, etc. Its a slippery slope as you can even make the argument that no incest is consensual (not that I agree with it).
